Description:
Are you looking for an opportunity to advance your career while working with an extraordinary team? At Merakey, we put heart and soul into everything we do. We are seeking a PRN Peer Specialist to join our Extended Acute Care (EAC) facility in York, PA.
Schedule: 16 hours/week; Thursday availability required
Earn $16.25/hour
Position Details:
Under the guidance of the EAC Program Director, the peer specialist will coach residents diagnosed with mental illness on how to develop and practice skills needed to achieve the goals outlined in their recovery/treatment plans.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach self-advocacy and advocate for individuals' rights and preferences.
- Share personal mental health recovery experiences while recognizing each person's unique journey.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and promote a recovery perspective.
- Inform team and supervisors of issues, obstacles, and accomplishments in individuals' recovery.
- Initiate and complete Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP) or other Wellness Tools.
- Contribute to treatment/recovery plans with the team, including development, implementation, evaluation, and revision.
- Provide individual and group supportive interventions and complete Safety Plans regularly.
