Overview

We are seeking to appoint an Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing, pricing and submitting tenders to a high quality, will have full analytical estimating knowledge of electrical installation & refurbishment work.

This position requires a strong understanding of cost control measures and the ability to analyse project specifications and requirements effectively within the commercial, industrial & public sector markets.

The ideal candidate will have a estimating experience with a strong electrical/M&E background and must hold a full UK Driving Licence.

Duties

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for various projects, including materials, labour, and overhead costs.
  • Communicating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers & clients
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive tender estimates.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary limits.
  • Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and adjust estimates accordingly.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management review, detailing estimated costs and assumptions made during the estimation process.
  • Maintain accurate records of all estimates and related documentation for future reference.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar estimating role within the electrical industry.
  • Electrical knowledge and qualifications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative & as part of a team to manage workload efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software and Office tools is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information to team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK electrical regulations, including 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
