The Company

Our client is an established M&E contractor delivering electrical and mechanical building-services projects across London and the Home Counties. Its portfolio includes new-build and refurbishment projects within public-sector buildings, schools and healthcare facilities.

The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its commercial team in Basildon. You will prepare detailed and competitive electrical estimates for projects valued up to £5 million. This will involve reviewing tender documentation, producing accurate costings and liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams throughout the tender process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates for projects valued up to £5 million
  • Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
  • Produce project costings within required tender timescales
  • Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Identify potential project risks and value-engineering opportunities
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and other project stakeholders
  • Work with the pre-construction and project teams to hand over successful tenders
  • Remain informed about relevant industry standards, regulations and pricing

About You

  • Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within an M&E, MEP or building-services contractor
  • Knowledge of electrical building-services systems
  • Experience working on public-sector projects, including education or healthcare environments
  • Able to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and tender documents
  • Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong numerical, organisational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a commercial and project team
