The Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of electrical control systems and solutions for bespoke engineering projects. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and project stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective designs that meet technical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical control panels, systems, and schematics using industry‑standard software
- Produce detailed electrical drawings including wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and BOMs
- Interpret client specifications and translate them into practical engineering solutions
- Support project teams throughout the full lifecycle from concept through to commissioning
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Liaise with suppliers and assist with component selection
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and installation teams where required
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Electrical Design Engineer or similar role
- Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar
- Strong understanding of electrical control systems and panel design
- Knowledge of relevant UK and international electrical standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable
