- Mechanical Estimator – Building Services
MEP Technical Talent are working in partnership with a well-established Mechanical & Electrical contractor based in Blackburn to recruit an experienced Mechanical Estimator.
Our client has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical engineering solutions across a wide range of sectors, including industrial, commercial, education, manufacturing, critical infrastructure and specialist engineering projects.
They provide full design, installation and commissioning services, delivering projects from concept through to completion.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with the appointment of an experienced Mechanical Estimator.
The Role
Working closely with the Pre-Construction and Operations teams, you'll be responsible for producing accurate and competitive mechanical estimates for a variety of building services projects.
Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed mechanical estimates from drawings and specifications.
- Reviewing tender documentation and identifying project requirements.
- Producing accurate take-offs and cost plans.
- Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Preparing competitive tender submissions.
- Identifying value engineering opportunities.
- Liaising with clients, consultants and internal delivery teams throughout the tender process.
- Supporting handovers to the delivery teams following successful tenders.
Requirements
We're keen to speak with candidates who have
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the Building Services / M&E sector.
- Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical installations including HVAC, heating, ventilation, pipework and public health services.
- Experience pricing projects across commercial and industrial environments.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
