We are recruiting for a procurement manager on behalf of a leading industrial contractor for the Shotton Paper Mill project. This site-based role requires a highly experienced professional to oversee all procurement activities, supplier negotiations, and contract management, ensuring cost-effective and timely sourcing of materials and services. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional with a strong background in M&E contracting projects to take on a key role in a major industrial project.
Responsibilities
- Managing all procurement activities, including tendering, sourcing, and supplier/contract management.
- Identifying strategic and operational procurement opportunities to optimize costs.
- Analyzing supplier offers and selecting the most cost-effective solutions based on total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Leading negotiations with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Overseeing contract agreements and ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
- Coordinating logistics, shipping, customs, and insurance operations.
- Working closely with the head office procurement team to align procurement strategies.
- Monitoring supply market trends, risks, and opportunities to inform procurement decisions.
- Managing warehouse activities, including consumables, goods receipt, and stock transfers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or extensive procurement experience in M&E contracting projects.
- Minimum of 10 years of procurement experience.
- Knowledge of the UK market is highly desirable.
- Experience using ERP software, preferably SAP.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven experience managing procurement budgets of GBP35m+.
- Availability to work Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
