Meon is the UK and Ireland’s leading specialist distributor of cold applied road marking, road repair and reinstatement systems. We work with these industries to evolve away from traditional hot applied and carbon intensive systems to alternatives which are safer in their application and more environmentally friendly.
Our focus is innovation to end users and their applications; from this point we work with our product and plant manufacturers to create the best materials and equipment. Our in-house R&D engineering team drive our innovation and product development practice – working closely with clients, manufacturers and colleagues in the UK and across Europe.
Job Description
We are growing our R&D / Product Development Team and looking to hire an engineer who will support our current and ‘in development’ projects. This is a hands-on role collaborating across all stakeholders, instigate, drive and own an array of projects which are focused on different line marking technologies, machines and applications as well as our cold applied road / surface repair and reinstatement systems.
Project management is a key element, but this isn’t an administrative role; Meon’s differentiators are innovation, service and support with this role being a key pillar. This role is fast-paced and demanding – it will require travel in the UK and Europe and flexibility with working hours as many of our contractors work with our materials and machines out of hours.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Run product demos and client presentations related to Product Development
- Carrying out market research for development opportunities
- Carrying out competitive product analysis
- Sourcing product/solution options and partners
- Collaborating with labs & universities for development work
- Undertaking practical testing & prototyping of products
- Attending and supporting on-site testing
- Reporting on testing completed
- Technical data sheet creation
Experience / Skills/attributes:
It is an imperative that the individual must be able to evidence experience and knowledge working with materials and systems related to Meon’s products; Paint Systems / Technologies and / or Road Repair / Civil Engineering materials.
· Appropriate degree / post graduate degree in a subject relevant to Industrial paints / chemicals
· Experience working within an industrial / contracting environment and able to demonstrate evidence of delivering projects with stakeholders
· Leadership experience / potential
· Project management skills and experience
· A great relationship builder and communicator – comfortable with clients, suppliers and colleagues
· Good presentation skills
· A driven, energetic and engaging personality who gets things done
· A well organised administrator
· Has full rights to work in the UK (not a student visa) and able to travel freely as required, within the UK and Europe.
