About the Role

The Supply Chain & Purchasing Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring products are available when customers need them. Responsible for the day-to-day execution of purchasing and stock replenishment, you'll keep inventory flowing through the business, identify potential supply risks early, and work closely with colleagues and suppliers to resolve issues before they impact availability.

This role suits someone who works well at pace. Sales opportunities at Meon move fast and often at short notice, so you'll react quickly, reprioritise as the day changes, and keep stock moving to match. It's ideal for someone who takes ownership and wants to build a long-term career in supply chain planning.

Keep our supply chain moving; At Meon, every customer order depends on products being in the right place at the right time. Behind that is someone who knows exactly what's happening across suppliers, stock and deliveries and acts before small issues become big problems.

This isn't simply an order processing role. You'll become the person people rely on for an accurate picture of supply, working closely with our Planner to keep stock flowing and customers supplied.

What you'll be doing

You'll manage the daily purchasing cycle from start to finish, ensuring stock is ordered accurately and arrives when it's needed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Raising purchase orders and managing the daily ERP workload.
• Monitoring supplier performance and following up overdue deliveries.
• Executing buying plans created by the Supply Chain Planner.
• Identifying supply risks early, including supplier delays, unexpected demand and stock shortages.
• Escalating issues quickly so action can be taken before customer service is affected.
• Building strong relationships with suppliers and becoming a trusted day-to-day contact.
• Working closely with colleagues across Supply Chain, Sales and Operations to keep everyone informed.
• Supporting the wider team during busy periods and holiday cover.

Skills and Experience

You’ll already be working in a purchasing, buying, supply chain or stock control role and be ready for your next challenge.

You'll bring:

• Experience using an ERP or stock management system.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Confidence managing multiple priorities without losing accuracy.
• Strong numerical skills and the ability to spot trends or issues quickly.
• A proactive mindset—you don't wait for problems to find you.
• The composure to react fast and reprioritise when the day changes.
• Great communication skills with suppliers and colleagues alike.

Most importantly, you'll take ownership. When something doesn't look right, you'll investigate it and help put it right.

After six months:

• Stock shortages are the exception rather than the rule because you've spotted issues early.
• Suppliers know you and respond quickly because you've built strong working relationships.
• Daily purchasing runs smoothly and accurately.
• The Supply Chain Planner trusts your judgement and relies on your updates to make better planning decisions.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Performance will be measured against agreed business targets in the following areas:

• Order and goods-in accuracy.
• On-time purchase ordering.
• Early identification and escalation of supply risks.
• Back-order resolution and clearance times.
• Supplier responsiveness on day-to-day issues.
