As a Forensic Assistant Manager based in our Manchester office, you will play a key role in delivering a broad range of forensic accounting and dispute engagements. Working alongside Directors and Partners, you will help manage assignments from initial planning through to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables for client reporting and Partner review.

You will support the management of complex engagements, taking responsibility for day-to-day project delivery, supervising junior team members, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout each assignment. You will also contribute to preparing reports, financial analyses and other outputs to the high standards expected by our clients and the firm.

As part of our growing Forensic Accounting & Disputes practice, you will be encouraged to develop your commercial awareness and contribute to business development activities. This includes building relationships with referrers, legal professionals and other advisers across the North West, identifying opportunities to support new and existing clients, and working collaboratively with colleagues across Menzies to generate referrals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of a wide range of forensic accounting assignments, including commercial disputes, business valuations, financial investigations and loss calculations.
  • Manage day-to-day engagements, preparing and reviewing high-quality financial analyses and reports.
  • Work closely with Directors and Partners to deliver robust, evidence-based advice to clients.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of the Forensic & Valuation Services team through collaboration and business development initiatives.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with experience in forensic accounting, disputes and investigations.
  • Experience supporting commercial dispute engagements, business valuations, financial investigations and loss calculations.
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate financial analyses and client reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Confident in building relationships with clients and professional contacts, working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting business development initiatives.
  • Previous experience supervising and developing junior team members, together with excellent communication and project management skills.
