We have a great opportunity for an Internal Audit Manager to join our team in the Birmingham / Manchester or London office. As an Internal Audit Manager, you'll play a key role in helping clients strengthen their governance, risk management and internal control environments. Leading a varied client portfolio across the public sector, financial services and corporate sectors, you'll combine technical expertise with a collaborative approach, developing junior colleagues, building lasting client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of our Risk Assurance & Advisory team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead high-quality internal audit and advisory engagements, delivering insightful assurance and advisory services that help clients strengthen their governance, risk management and control environments.
- Build trusted client relationships, acting as a key point of contact for clients, confidently responding to queries, understanding their business objectives and providing practical, value-added advice.
- Lead and develop teams by mentoring, coaching and supporting junior colleagues, sharing your expertise and helping them grow throughout their careers.
- Manage a varied client portfolio, overseeing multiple assignments, balancing priorities and ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget.
- Represent Menzies with confidence, attending client meetings, including Audit Committee meetings, presenting findings and building strong, long-term relationships with stakeholders.
- Support business growth by contributing to winning new work through preparing proposals, fee quotations and tender submissions, while identifying opportunities to expand existing client relationships.
- Understand your clients' world by developing a strong understanding of clients' industries, commercial environments and key risks, enabling you to deliver tailored, risk-focused advice.
- Collaborate across the firm, working closely with colleagues across Risk Assurance & Advisory and the wider Menzies business to deliver joined-up solutions and exceptional client service.
- Champion continuous improvement by supporting training initiatives, identifying opportunities to strengthen technical capability across the team and contributing to developing best practice.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
We're looking for an experienced Internal Audit professional who enjoys building trusted client relationships, leading high-performing teams and delivering exceptional advisory services. You'll be commercially minded, passionate about developing others, and motivated by helping clients navigate risk and drive continuous improvement.
- Qualifications: Professionally qualified through CIA or another recognised CCAB qualification (such as ACA, ACCA or CIPFA).
- Skills & Knowledge: A strong background in internal audit, risk assurance or advisory services. Experience leading and developing junior team members through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job support. The ability to produce high-quality reports and client deliverables with minimal review. Strong commercial awareness, with experience scoping engagements, preparing fee proposals and identifying opportunities to add value for clients. Confidence managing audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring quality, efficiency and excellent client service throughout. Experience leading client meetings and presenting findings to senior stakeholders with confidence. A collaborative approach, with the ability to contribute to team processes, improve ways of working and drive operational efficiencies. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to a range of audiences.

A proven track record of developing junior colleagues and supporting the growth of high-performing teams. Experience contributing to business development activities, including proposals, tenders or identifying opportunities to expand client relationships, would be advantageous.
- Travel: A willingness to travel between your home office and client sites as required.
