We have a great opportunity for a Part-Time Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant to join our team in the Woking office looking to work around 25 to 30 hours, over 5 days but we are flexible with the hours. By joining our Finance team you’ll play an important role in keeping our day-to-day financial operations running smoothly. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the team to deliver an accurate, efficient and high-quality service, supporting both our Purchase Ledger and Practice Administration systems. Key Responsibilities
Here’s what you’ll be doing: You’ll be a key part of our busy Finance team, supporting the smooth running of our day-to-day financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Setting up new suppliers in line with our internal procedures.
- Preparing and posting data journals.
- Supporting the processing of employee expense claims and credit card transactions.
- Assisting with daily cash postings and ensuring records are kept up to date.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues across the business.
- Supporting the wider Finance team with ad hoc projects and providing cover for colleagues when required.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
What We’re Looking For: We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys being part of a collaborative team. You’ll have a good eye for detail, be comfortable working with numbers and be keen to develop your experience within a busy Finance environment. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- A good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- A-Level qualifications or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
- Some understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes.
- Familiarity with accounting software and BACS payments would be beneficial.
- Previous Purchase Ledger experience would be advantageous, but isn’t essential.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively to deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, flexible approach and a willingness to learn.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to support colleagues as part of a busy team.
