We are seeking an experienced Employment Tax Manager to join our growing tax team. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality advisory and compliance services, alongside helping to shape our client propositions, work directly with senior leaders and play a role in a growing service line.

Key Responsibilities
- Client Advisory & Compliance: Provide UK employment tax compliance and technical advice across a broad range of employment tax issues including PAYE, NIC, benefits, expenses, Construction Industry Scheme, National Minimum Wage, equity reporting and termination payments. Advise on employment status, IR35, off-payroll working, and contractor arrangements. Support and manage HMRC enquiries, audits/reviews, investigations and disputes. Provide UK employment tax input into global mobility arrangements, including inbound and outbound employees. Deliver advice on share schemes, salary sacrifice arrangements, and employee reward strategies.
- Project Work: Lead and manage employment tax projects such as due diligence, restructures, and transactions. Identify tax risks and opportunities for clients, offering practical and commercial solutions. Collaborate with corporate tax, VAT, People Solutions, Wealth Management and payroll teams to provide integrated advice.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Act as a key point of contact for employment tax matters. Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and networking.
- Team Leadership & Development: Assist in training and development of the wider tax team.
- Technical & Regulatory: Stay up to date with changes in employment tax legislation and HMRC guidance. Contribute to internal technical updates and thought leadership. Ensure compliance with internal risk and quality procedures.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- CTA / ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
- Significant experience in employment tax within an accountancy practice or consultancy.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK employment tax legislation.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in UK employment tax.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver advisory work.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
