The AAT Programme

When you join, you’ll start working towards the AAT qualification. As an AAT Apprentice, you\’ll get involved with client work as part of a supportive and inclusive team. Our apprentices have the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele representing various industry sectors, giving you a well-rounded experience. We prioritise your growth and development by providing you with a mentor and training manager throughout the programme.

You will be based in our Accounts service linewhere you\’ll gain valuable commercial insights into how organisations operate and the challenges they face. Your responsibilities will grow as you progress through the programme. Your career with Menzies doesn\’t just stop once you complete your AAT qualification, you can be given the opportunity to progress onto further studies, such as the 3-year ACA qualification.

What does an Accounts & Advisory team do?

Our Accounts team plays a vital role in assisting our clients to achieve their strategic objectives.

Whether it be advising on technical elements of accounting standards, ensuring that our clients have the right information to hand to make well informed decisions, or assisting to prepare financial accounts, our Accounts team spends a large proportion of their time supporting clients to meet their technical and compliance needs.

Using this technical understanding, our Accounts team get to understand our client’s businesses and the individuals behind them. They offer strong strategic advice to ensure that our clients grow and develop their business in a way that aligns with their strategic goals.

What do we look for?

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy a challenge and we welcome applicants with a minimum of 2 x A levels (A-C) and one other A level or equivalent 5 GCSEs grades A*- C or 9-4 (Maths and English Language preferred) or equivalent. Accounts is a technically demanding discipline, so it’s important that students can grasp new subjects quickly. You don’t have to be a maths genius but it’s important you are confident with numbers and have good attention to detail. You’ll often need to explain complex financial information, so you’ll also need excellent written and verbal communication skills.
