Menzies Distribution Solutions is looking for an experienced and motivated HGV / Trailer Technician to join our Fleet Engineering team in East Kilbride. This is a mobile, field-based role supporting our fleet operation across East Kilbride and the wider Menzies Distribution Solutions network in Scotland. Working as part of our in-house maintenance operation, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of HGVs and Trailers, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and available for operation. The role will involve regular travel to other Menzies Distribution Solutions depots and operational sites, where business requirements dictate. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established national logistics business with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs and trailers.
- Perform corrective maintenance, defect repairs and damage repairs as required.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Prepare trailers for MOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet all compliance standards.
- Complete all maintenance records, defect reports and job cards accurately.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with DVSA requirements and company procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the working areas.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety legislation, policies and safe working practices.
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified HGV Technician with a recognised Level 3 HGV Apprenticeship, City & Guilds or NVQ qualification.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proven experience in HGV and trailer maintenance and repair.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Determined, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Desirable Requirements
- HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
- IRTEC qualification.
- Experience working on DAF and MAN vehicles.
- Experience maintaining trailers fitted with BPW axles.
- Previous experience within a fleet maintenance or transport operation.
