Menzies Distribution Solutions are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our team based in Northampton. As a Transport Supervisor, you'll be responsible for supporting our customer, drivers and colleagues throughout the business.
The Details:
- Salary: £40,000 Per Annum, £15.38 Per Hour
- Hours: 08:00 - 17:00
- Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday
- Hours Per Week: 50
- Parking Onsite
- Monthly Pay
Transport Supervisor Duties:
- Maintenance and Management of the Transport Management System (TMS).
- Ensure effective and efficient use of driver and vehicle resources.
- Ensuring customer requirements are administered in a timely, controlled and recorded manner.
- Liaise, support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Promote effective and efficient standards of work, in order to comply with transport legislation, company policy and Health & Safety legislation.
- Promotion and adherence to site policy and procedure.
- Managing Drivers Day to day activity effectively.
- To carry out investigations or incident reports in relation to any vehicle incidents when necessary.
- Ensure all agency drivers are inducted correctly and Compliance is monitored.
- Manage tachograph infringements to ensure full compliance.
- Manage driver briefing / de-briefing including downloading driver digicards.
- Co-ordinate drivers including managing holiday and sickness cover.
- Query investigation and resolution.
- Preparing and submitting various KPI reports.
- Record, monitor & be proactive in achieving improved fuel efficiency and better MPG.
- Cross functional interaction (Warehouse / Drivers or Contractors / Customers).
- Undertake any other duties that are reasonably requested.
- Work together with Planning Centre and Kettering Site team to deliver the best customer service.
- Ability to dynamically plan work when required ensuring all deliveries are made on time.

- A detailed understanding of the rules and regulation around drivers' hours.
- TMS knowledge.
- Hardworking, positive and a flexible attitude to work.
- Previous experience working in a Transport Office.
- Understand WTD.
- Planning experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Customer service experience.
- Computer Literate.
- Excel knowledge.
