Menzies Distribution Solutions are looking for an experienced SHEQ Co-Ordinator to join our operation. This role will support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of SHEQ standards across a BRC-certified warehouse and its associated HGV transport operations. The role ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and customer requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture.

- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
- Working Hours: 08:00 – 17:00
- Based on a basic 42 hour working week

Key Responsibilities
- Safety
- Conduct site safety inspections and audits across warehouse and transport operations.
- Support accident/incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to warehouse operatives and drivers.
- Monitor and promote safe systems of work, including manual handling, vehicle movements, and loading/unloading procedures.
- Health
- Ensure occupational health risks are identified and controlled (e.g., noise, manual handling, driver fatigue).
- Support health surveillance programmes and liaise with occupational health providers.
- Promote wellbeing initiatives and mental health awareness across the site.
- Environment
- Monitor environmental compliance including waste management, spill control, and emissions from transport.
- Support sustainability initiatives and environmental reporting.
- Ensure emergency response plans are in place and tested.
- Quality
- Maintain BRC Global Standard compliance through internal audits and document control.
- Support product traceability, hygiene standards, and warehouse housekeeping.
- Assist with customer and third-party audits, ensuring readiness and corrective actions.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a warehouse or logistics SHEQ role (preferably BRC or similar standards).
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (desirable).
- Knowledge of HGV operations and transport safety regulations.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Proficient in incident reporting systems and Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).
- Internal auditor training (BRC, ISO 9001/14001/45001) desirable.
- CPC knowledge or transport compliance training beneficial.
