Base pay rangeMenzies Distribution Solutions are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our team based in Coalville. As a Transport Supervisor, you\βll be responsible for the execution of transport plans ensuring transport and network SLA\βs/KPI\βs are achieved, developing and building efficient routes whilst maximising vehicle capacity β ensuring all work is distributed whilst complying with Transport Legislation, Health & Safety and customer service requirements. You will also ensure that the customer\βs products are delivered on time and in full using the most cost effective means possible, and best use of available resources including maximising the utilisation of Menzies Drivers in line with current driver hours and WTD legislation.

Hours: 18:00 β 06:00

Monthly Pay
Ensure that your Site Planners plan all relevant customer deliveries utilising the software available at site to ensure delivery windows are met
Liaise with the Customer as required in relation to delays and possible issues with delivery
Develop back haul lanes with both Menzies depots and 3rd party customers whilst maintaining fleet utilisation
Co-ordinate a late load report in line with operational requirements and deadlines
Ensure your drivers are compliant with Working Time Directive
Ensure that the drivers regularly Download Driver cards for analysis
Ensure that the Site Planners Comply with all Transport legislation reducing tachograph infringements to below the company target and adhering to WTD regulations
Communicate routes to and liaise with other Menzies Depots
Through liaising with your Site Planners that you are fully aware of any delays and possible issues with delivery
Source local agency drivers as and when required (in conjunction with our PSL) providing an accurate brief of job required
Source local sub-contractors as and when required
Ensure that Site Planners are aware that the loads meet safety standards
Manage the Site Planners ensuring they are using the most efficient start times
Ensure adequate Pre-Briefing of Drivers is taking place by the Transport Supervisors to ensure that they fully understand their instructions.
Ensure adequate De-Briefing of Drivers, by the Transport Supervisors, upon their return to ensure that all documentation has been completed correctly
Ensure compliance with Agency Driver checklist
Record trailer information on all inbound/outbound deliveries and stand trailers
Fully understand and communicate agreed KPI\βs for Department
All other transport office related duties
Ensuring all drivers are appropriately trained and familiarised with both operations and equipment
From time to time, you may be requested to deputise for the Manager on daily plan/do/review calls
Liaise with and feedback to driver agencies for ad-hoc and peak driver support
Requirements:
