Menzies Distribution is looking for an experienced TMS Operational Support to join our business. The TMS Operations Support will be responsible for training and monitoring TMS users and ensuring site compliance with operating procedures. This role will collaborate with operations on new and existing projects, onboard new clients, and drive continuous improvement in a fast‑moving, scaling business. The position reports to the TMS Operations Manager.
Key Information
- Location: Home Based – travel required for meetings or projects; available for extended periods away.
- Position: Full Time
- Salary: £35 000 per annum + Car Allowance
- Week: Monday to Friday
- Monthly Pay: Yes
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with internal site teams and planners to understand operations and challenges.
- Create and maintain TMS system process documentation, including site‑specific processes for individual clients.
- Provide training to users, ensuring all staff are fully trained for daily tasks.
- Maintain training records and liaise with site management to ensure compliance and standards are met.
- Support new client onboarding and project activity for existing operations, implementing the system solution as designed.
- Utilise and analyse relevant data from Compliance Reporting and TMS Dashboards to identify issues and proactively drive improvements via site support and re‑training.
- Monitor compliance failures, investigate root causes, identify solutions or corrective actions, and implement or raise escalation where necessary.
- Liaise with the TMS Systems Support Team on impending rate card changes, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
Experience & Key Skills
- At least 5 years in the 3PL environment with a deep understanding of logistics processes and supporting systems.
- Ideal: 3+ years with the Microlise TMS solution or comparable industry standard TMS product.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills; self‑motivated and capable of evaluating situations, problem‑solving, and identifying solutions.
- Ability to manage workload across multiple projects, timelines, and priorities; works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- In‑depth knowledge of Word, Excel, and other Microsoft products; general IT skills preferred.
- Experience managing and driving change in constantly evolving situations.
