Transport Controller in Carrington

Menzies Distribution Solutions are currently looking for a Transport Controller to join our busy team based in Carrington. The Transport Controller acts as the liaison between the customer and the Transport office. Acts as first point of contact for the customer and resolves any problems or concerns with the distribution of their products and materials to and/or from the mill. Projects a positive and professional image at all times, assisting the customer promptly and conducting all business in a friendly, courteous and knowledgeable manner.

The Details:

• Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 05:30 - 15:00 - flexibility requires in case of business needs
• Length of Shift: 9 Hours Plus Break
• Monthly Pay
• Dealing with customer orders ensuring quantity accuracy, delivery timelines communication to depot staff.
• Maintain a harmonised people and customer focused team-working environment.
• Maintain and expand a proactive relationship with existing customers and suppliers.
• Deal with enquiries and complaints through to closure.
• Enter accurate data onto all internal systems and reports.
• Creation of customer KPI reports.
• Collation of accurate data to create customer invoices.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Key Experience and Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Experience resolving disputes.
• Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience in using WMS and TMS systems

Technical Skills and Behavioural Competencies

• Strong analytical and numeracy skills.
• Good financial understanding.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Professional manner.

Site / Customer Specific Duties

• Manage Irish work and communication with subcontractors/customers.
• Assist with driver inductions.
• Assist with walkaround check audits.
• Deal with customer claims.
• Filing and POD administration.
• Managing loading/tipping operations using WMS systems
