InPost/Menzies Distribution is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Warehouse Operations Manager to join our dynamic team in Coventry. This key leadership role is responsible for driving the success of our Lockers operations and ensuring the optimal performance of our parcel sortation hub. We are looking for a candidate with proven experience in managing parcel sortation operations who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
As the Operations Manager, you will be at the helm of overseeing the day-to-day operations of our parcel sortation hub, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and compliance across all aspects of the operation. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing a dedicated team, while managing mechanical sortation processes to deliver superior service to our customers.

Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive
Shift Pattern: Sunday – Thursday (with flexibility based on business needs)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the parcel dispatch process, ensuring seamless and efficient workflow.
- Manage, support, and mentor the operational team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Drive performance excellence, consistently exceeding customer expectations while meeting all contractual KPIs.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including customers.
- Ensure strict adherence to operational and health & safety compliance standards.
- Collaborate with the Regional and General Manager to meet operational performance goals and improve service delivery.
- Supervise and develop the shift team, implementing regular reviews, training, and development programs.
- Optimize resource allocation, including driver and vehicle management, to achieve operational efficiency.
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings, service improvements, and greater operational efficiencies.
- Maintain a safe and organized workplace through effective housekeeping and proactive maintenance schedules.
- Some travel across the UK may be required.
Requirements:
- ESSENTIAL: Extensive experience in managing mechanical parcel sortation operations, with a strong track record of operational success.
- Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph, and WTD legislation.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and compliance.
- Proven leadership ability, with experience in motivating, developing, and managing teams.
- Experience in budget management, KPI development, and performance measurement.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in using computerised systems, including TMS and WMS.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong numeracy and analytical skills.
