Role Purpose

This role is responsible for unloading and loading of luggage, freight and cargo on and off commercial aircraft, in the outbound bag room and the baggage claim area as well as safe and efficient cleaning of aircraft cabins. Driving and operating small specialised commercial vehicles. Position requires heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching and frequent kneeling. This role requires you to maintain a safe and secure work environment, in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures.

What you will be doing

  • Comfortably and continuously lift/move 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals and air cargo facilities.
  • Frequent bending, stretching push/pulling, stacking and kneeling in small, confined locations.
  • Operate motorised equipment and small specialised commercial vehicles.
  • Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
  • Conduct physical search of empty interiors and accessible exterior of the aircraft to detect prohibited articles and unlawful interferences that may jeopardise the security of the aircraft.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Possess and maintain a valid US driver’s licence.
  • Must have high school diploma, GED or six months prior ramp agent work experience.
  • Must be comfortable lifting 70lbs repetitively.
  • Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs seal.
