Speciality Doctor in Adult Psychiatry

Mentus Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a reputable private adult inpatient mental health provider in South Yorkshire for an experienced Specialty Doctor in Psychiatry to support adult acute inpatient wards through an ongoing contract.

This role offers consistent ward-based work, supportive clinical leadership, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the recovery of patients experiencing moderate to severe mental illness within secure and therapeutic inpatient environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily psychiatric and medical reviews for adult inpatients.
• Complete initial psychiatric assessments and physical health examinations.
• Support development and implementation of care plans, treatment strategies and risk management.
• Attend and contribute to ward rounds, MDT meetings, clinical handovers and discharge planning.
• Participate in a non‑resident 2nd tier on‑call rota as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Hold full registration and licence to practice with the UK medical regulator.
• Have demonstrable experience in adult mental health or inpatient psychiatry.
• Be confident managing acute presentations and complex risk.
• Show excellent communication, clinical documentation and MDT collaboration skills.

The role can be offered on a LTD Company basis.
