This pivotal position focuses on steering overarching clinical strategy whilst guaranteeing that patient safety, exceptional outcomes, and robust governance remain at the heart of all expansion plans and corporate decisions. The appointee will heavily influence risk management protocols, service innovation, and the mentorship of emerging clinical leaders throughout the business. Core Accountabilities Executive Leadership: Provide expert clinical direction to the Board and wider management teams to shape corporate strategy and priorities. Governance & Safety: Direct clinical governance frameworks, taking ownership of risk protocols, safeguarding measures, and adverse incident reviews. Clinical Practice: Continue to undertake hands-on clinical duties in line with an agreed job plan, maintaining GMC revalidation and acting as a role model for clinical excellence. Applicant Requirements Essential Criteria: Fully GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist featuring on the Specialist Register, possessing a valid licence to practise. Substantial clinical expertise in managing neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly ADHD and autism. A proven track record operating at a senior Consultant level with distinct leadership accountabilities. Comprehensive knowledge of patient safety protocols, clinical auditing, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated ability to drive service transformation and implement multidisciplinary quality improvements. Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of balancing commercial realities with clinical integrity. Approved clinician status under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983. Desirable Criteria: Prior tenure in a Medical Director, Clinical Director, or comparable senior executive medical post. Familiarity with the independent healthcare sector and CQC regulatory frameworks. Background in collaborating with NHS commissioning groups and establishing new care pathways from inception. Experience steering a workforce through periods of significant organisational change. Formal accreditations or further education in healthcare management, leadership, or quality improvement.
