We are working with a leading independent mental health provider to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established inpatient service in the Nottingham area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive multidisciplinary team within an acute and psychiatric intensive care (PICU) setting, providing care to adults experiencing a range of complex mental health conditions. The service is set within extensive grounds and offers a structured, therapeutic environment focused on recovery, dignity, and personalised care.
- Provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for patients within an acute inpatient ward
- Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)
- Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and care planning meetings
- Support formulation, diagnosis, and treatment planning for complex presentations
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support recovery-focused outcomes
Requirements:
- GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register (essential)
- CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in Psychiatry
- Experience working within inpatient mental health settings
- Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act (1983) and associated responsibilities
