EMERGENCY RESPONSE SUPERVISOR required by our Client, an Oil and Gas Operator, to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in Algeria.
ROTATION: 28 Days On x 28 Days Off
DURATION: 12 months (renewable)
Principal Responsibilities:
- This position will support development of the Incident Command & Crisis Management systems for all sites.
- The role is critical to ensuring the organization is fully prepared to respond to emergencies, safeguarding people, assets, and the environment while ensuring readiness across all operations.
- Align ERPs with local regulations, international standards, and company HSE policies, ensuring compliance with national requirements and industry best practices.
- Arrange comprehensive training programs and updated documentation to prepare personnel for Incident Command and Crisis Management scenarios.
- Organize emergency response training for employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Support and oversee drills and simulations (e.g., fire, spill, medical emergencies) to evaluate readiness.
- Document training sessions, drills, and lessons learned to ensure continuous improvement.
- Assist site teams in implementing and testing emergency response procedures tailored to site-specific risks and controls.
- Collaborate with HSE teams to ensure site-specific plans align with corporate ER policies.
- Act as the primary liaison between the head office and operational sites regarding emergency preparedness.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Degree or degree-level equivalent qualification in an HSE related discipline (H&S, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Biology, Construction or similar).
- Must have Major Emergency Management (MEM) Training or Incident Command System Training (ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 300 etc.).
- NEBOSH certificate qualification (or equivalent) with at least 10 years proven experience in an Emergency Response capacity within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Extensive experience in designing, implementing, maintaining and improving Emergency Response processes and exercises within a high hazard operating facility.
- English skills essential - French and/or Arabic language skills desirable.
- Strong knowledge of emergency response procedures, crisis management, and HSE standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills for training and coordinating diverse teams.
