We use Salesforce as a platform for key systems, including debt solutions, HR, donor, volunteer, and partnership management. As a Salesforce Solution Architect, you will shape the strategic direction and technical implementation of our Salesforce platform, with a strong focus on Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud. You will translate strategic objectives and complex business requirements into robust, scalable, and secure technical designs.

You will collaborate with:

  • Product Managers to support prioritisation
  • Business Analysts to refine and understand requirements
  • Salesforce Developers for technical implementation
  • Salesforce Administrators to ensure optimal configuration and maintenance

Your work will support mission-critical processes across fundraising, programmes, volunteer management, and engagement.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Lead the design and architecture of Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud solutions aligned with business goals and best practices.
  • Support prioritisation with Product Managers via estimation and high-level design.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts to translate business needs into detailed technical specifications and blueprints.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Developers and ensure solutions meet architectural, security, and performance standards.
  • Advise Salesforce Administrators on declarative configurations and strategic adoption of new features.
  • Review and improve existing Salesforce implementations.
  • Define and enforce development standards and governance.
  • Oversee data migration strategies and ensure data integrity.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Nonprofit Cloud features and updates.
  • Create technical documentation and knowledge sharing resources.
  • Stay informed on Salesforce trends and contribute to strategy discussions.
  • Mentor Developers and Administrators to promote technical excellence.
  • Provide early-stage technical consultation for new initiatives.
  • Escalate significant risks or issues to leadership.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Attendance at annual staff conferences.
  • Completing all compulsory training within given timescales.
  • This role falls within the scope of the FCA’s conduct rules, and you will be provided with training as to how these apply to the role. It is your responsibility to ensure that you follow these conduct rules.

Person Specification

Education: Degree-level qualification or equivalent vocational training.

Experience:

  • Essential: 3+ years as a Salesforce Solution Architect or similar role.
  • Strong experience with Salesforce in a nonprofit context.
  • Proficiency with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and integrations.
  • Experience in both declarative and programmatic Salesforce capabilities.
  • Strong grasp of Salesforce integration tools and ETL processes.
  • Demonstrated collaboration with Product Managers and Analysts.
  • Technical leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Agile delivery experience.
  • Charity/nonprofit sector experience.
  • Desirable: Salesforce Certified Application or System Architect.
  • Salesforce Certified Nonprofit Cloud Consultant.
  • Experience with Tableau CRM/Einstein Analytics.
  • Familiarity with other nonprofit technologies.
  • Experience with tools like Gearset or Copado.
