Identity is one of the biggest business risks facing modern organisations. Our client is establishing a dedicated Identity & Access Management (IAM) function, separating identity from broader cyber delivery and elevating it to a standalone strategic programme. We are looking for an IAM Programme Lead to define, own, and deliver the organisation’s identity strategy and roadmap — from early proof of concept (POC) through to full-scale identity transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end IAM strategy and roadmap (this is a leadership role, not an architecture or operational management position).
  • Lead and govern core identity domains, including:
  • IGA (Identity Governance & Administration)
  • JML (Joiners, Movers, Leavers)
  • Password and authentication policies
  • PAM (Privileged Access Management)
  • Customer Identity (CIAM)
  • Act as the senior identity authority, presenting to SteerCo and influencing executive stakeholders.
  • Drive cross-business engagement, particularly with HR, internal communications, and cyber leadership.
  • Ensure identity strategy is well-articulated, understood, and embedded across the organisation.
  • Bring a strong, practical understanding of modern Microsoft identity tooling, including Microsoft Entra and Microsoft Intune, beyond surface-level knowledge.
  • Shape and contribute to identity strategy through internal forums, conferences, and senior governance sessions.
  • What We’re Looking For

    • Proven experience leading enterprise-scale IAM or identity transformation programmes.
    • Comfortable owning strategy, roadmap, and outcomes — not a hands-on security architect or BAU delivery manager.
    • Strong executive presence with experience operating at SteerCo / board-facing level.
    • Deep understanding of identity as a business enabler and risk domain, not just a technical control.
