Tractor Driver and Sprayer Operator – Soft Fruit & Arable Operations

Salary and Benefits Package:
- Competitive hourly rate between £14.00 – £17.50 (depending on experience and qualifications)

The Job Role Details
You will be responsible for operating a range of agricultural machinery, applying crop protection products, and supporting key farm operations to ensure efficient and successful production. The role will also involve maintenance, structural work, and assisting with general farm duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of agricultural machinery including vineyard tractors, harvesters, telehandlers, and excavators
- Apply crop protection products (pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers) to soft fruit and arable crops
- Carry out machinery maintenance and repairs to minimise downtime
- Assist with cultivation and harvesting (ploughing, drilling, harrowing, baling)
- Load and transport materials using lifting equipment
- Build, maintain, and dismantle tunnels and galvanised structures for fruit production
- Support general farm operations and infrastructure projects
Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years\’ experience operating tractors
- Full UK driving licence (Category B) – essential
- Physically fit (capable of lifting up to 40kg)
- Strong mechanical awareness with problem-solving skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively
- A good communicator and team player
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Basic computer skills
- Certificates such as PA1, PA2, PA3, PA4, Forklift/Telehandler licence, or ATV licence – desirable but not essential (training available)
- Previous soft fruit or irrigation experience – an advantage but not essential
Working Hours
- 39 – 60 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, with weekend availability required (must work either Saturday or Sunday)
