Are you an experienced Forestry Consultant? Have you got experience in Countryside Stewardship Applications? Do you have relevant industry qualifications (BSc/MSc, Forestry, MICFor)?
Key Responsibilities- Take ownership of developing and expanding regional forestry operations, supporting wider business growth and strategic goals.
- Build and strengthen relationships with clients while identifying new opportunities to increase market presence across the region.
- Manage financial performance, including budgeting and ensuring projects are delivered in line with commercial targets.
- Lead, support and develop team members, fostering a high‑performing and collaborative culture.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of woodland management plans (WMPs) including implementing new creation projects.
- Lead Countryside Stewardship (CS HT) applications and manage grant‑funded works.
- Coordinate timber harvesting, marketing, restocking and ongoing woodland maintenance programmes.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, woodland certification requirements and regulatory obligations.
- Lead tree safety surveys and associated works programmes. Support delivery of BNG, carbon offsetting and Woodland Carbon Code schemes.
- Oversee mapping, GIS and data handling and reporting.
- Allocate and monitor workloads, ensuring projects are completed to specification, on time and within budget.
- Provide technical guidance, combining specialist expertise and knowledge across forestry disciplines.
- Promote a culture of high standards, accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
- Represent the business within the wider industry, building networks and enhancing reputation.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to deliver integrated, client‑focused solutions, set clear objectives in line with business strategy and measure/manage performance.
- Conduct regular one‑to‑one meetings, hold team meetings, and complete probationary, interim and annual appraisals as per company guidance.

- Experience working in a forestry consultant role or similar position.
- Relevant industry qualifications (BSc/MSc, Forestry, MICFor).
- Actively support the development of individuals and teams, helping to enhance capability and overall performance.
- Maintain a strong focus on delivering high‑quality outcomes for clients.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across all levels, representing the organisation in a positive and professional manner.
- Ability to develop forward‑thinking plans to support long‑term business success.
- Identify opportunities to expand services, improve profitability and make the most of market potential.
- Must hold an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification relevant to the role.
