Salary and Benefits Package: £40,000 - £45,000 basic salary DOE. Accommodation if you wish to relocate.

Additional information: This is a permanent, full time position.

Working Hours: Full time (45 hours per week). Peak seasonal periods (planting and harvest) will require additional hours as and when required.

The Job Role Details: You will support the Farm Manager in the day to day running of the farm, taking responsibility for overseeing field operations and supervising a small team. This is a practical, hands on role where you will be actively involved in machinery operations while ensuring work is completed to a high standard. This role would suit an experienced Farm Foreman with strong machinery skills and some supervisory experience, who enjoys working within a professional farming environment and supporting the delivery of a vegetable cropping programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and oversee daily crop production activities across the farm.
  • Operate a range of modern agricultural machinery including cultivations, drilling, planting and harvesting equipment.
  • Supervise and guide a small team, including seasonal staff, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating workloads during busy periods.
  • Monitor crop progress and report any issues to the Farm Manager.
  • Assist with routine machinery maintenance, fault finding and basic servicing.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety and environmental standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider farm team to deliver the annual cropping programme.

Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience within vegetable or arable crop production on farm.
  • Strong machinery operation skills and good mechanical awareness.
  • Previous experience supervising or leading a small team.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • PA1 and PA2 spraying certificates.
  • Telehandler or forklift certification - desirable but not essential.

All applicants must hold an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2 or an equivalent qualification relevant to the job.
