Job Specification

Are you an experienced Agricultural Service Engineer, Land-Based Engineer or Agricultural Technician looking for a new direction in your career? Do you have hands on experience with the maintenance, service and repair of tractors and ready to down tools and pass on your knowledge?

An established education provider specialising in agriculture, engineering, environmental and land-based education is looking for an experienced engineer to join its specialist engineering team, supporting the delivery of Level 2 and Level 3 Agricultural Engineering Apprenticeships.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working with agricultural machinery and would like to pass on their knowledge, skills and industry experience to the next generation of agricultural technicians. You will gain a teaching qualification upon being successful with a salary increase alongside. If you already have a teaching qualification you will automatically start your position on the qualified banding.

The Role

Working alongside a highly experienced engineering teaching team, you will support apprentices through practical, industry-focused learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting practical projects involving tractor and agricultural machinery servicing, repairs and overhauls
  • Helping develop practical teaching models, rigs and learning resources
  • Maintaining workshop machinery, tools and equipment to a high standard
  • Supporting tool control, stock management, workshop organisation and health & safety
  • Developing and delivering teaching content in areas where you have specialist knowledge
  • Supporting apprentice transport and attending manufacturer-led technical training alongside apprentices
  • Developing your own teaching and technical skills, with the opportunity to undertake a recognised teaching qualification

About You

We'd love to hear from candidates with a background in:

  • Agricultural machinery / service engineering
  • Vehicle or plant machinery engineering
  • Horticultural machinery
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Mechanical knowledge of tractor repair, service & maintenance.
  • Farming Machinery

A teaching qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential. The organisation is open to experienced engineers who are considering a move into education and will support the right person in developing their teaching skills.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is more than a workshop-based role. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work with modern, high-technology agricultural machinery
  • Help shape the next generation of agricultural engineers
  • Work alongside a highly experienced engineering team
  • Access manufacturer-backed technical training
  • Develop a new career pathway into engineering education
  • Share your industry knowledge while continuing to develop your own technical and professional skills

If you're an experienced Agricultural Engineer, Service Engineer, Agricultural Technician or Land-Based Engineer who is ready for a new challenge - or simply interested in passing your experience on to the next generation we want to hear from you!
