Vacancy Location: Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucester.

This is a Temporary/Fixed Term Contract, 35 hours per week. Your role location is South Gloucestershire-based with travel across Bristol and North Somerset (BNSSG).

About the Role:

As a Peer Group Facilitator & Support Worker, you will draw upon your lived experience of recovery from Complex Emotional Needs (CEN) or personality disorder to support others. You will facilitate peer group sessions, inspire hope, and provide person-centred, trauma-informed support.

You will work within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team delivering holistic, community-based support through psychoeducational and therapeutic group sessions, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT), in partnership with Avon and Wiltshire Partnership (AWP). This field-based role involves working from home, community venues, and NHS locations across BNSSG. You will receive necessary IT equipment and travel expenses.

About Sequoia:

Sequoia is a support service co-produced with experts by experience to help adults with CEN or personality disorder achieve improved mental health, build coping skills, and reconnect with their communities. Services include in-person and virtual sessions designed to provide accessible, high-quality support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate peer support and group sessions across BNSSG.
  • Share your recovery journey to inspire and guide others.
  • Collaborate with professionals and peers to deliver person-centred support.
  • Record activities accurately using digital tools (Hive/RiO).
  • Participate in team meetings, reflective practice, and co-production activities.
  • Ensure safeguarding, equality, and accessibility in all services provided.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Lived experience of CEN or personality disorder recovery.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and best practices in mental health support.
  • Ability to manage your workload effectively and prioritise tasks.
  • Flexibility to travel across BNSSG.
  • Experience in group facilitation and working with people in crisis.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and health & safety practices.
  • Knowledge of using digital tools for record-keeping.
