We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Crisis Recovery Worker to work in our out of hours service in Dartford. We provide high quality non-clinical support to people in any self-defined mental health crisis. Mental Health Matters (MHM) is a national charity with over 40 years of experience in delivering high-quality mental health and social care services.
About the role:
- As a Crisis Recovery Worker, you will be required to provide a high quality, recovery-focused service to our clients who have a range of mental health and autistic traits as well as other support needs including learning disabilities, physical health issues and substance misuse, whilst promoting independence and social inclusion.
- You should be able to inspire, engage and motivate people, with the proven ability to identify barriers, understand need and support people to achieve their goals.
- The role will include one-to-one engagement, facilitating activities within the service and community, administrative tasks, signposting and engaging people in other provision.
- You will work alongside Peer Support Workers (PSW) and Clinicians to achieve the best person-centred care with the patient for their recovery.
- You will be part of a small team supporting people in a crisis drop-in centre.
- We are a non-clinical service, providing support to reduce immediate distress to those at risk of self-harm, suicide or experiencing trauma.
- Our service provides information, safety planning and signposting for clients, their families and carers to meet their holistic needs.
- You will work closely with mental health primary and secondary care, emergency services, and partner agencies.
About you:
- You will have experience of working with Mental Health and will be able to inspire and engage people.
- You should possess excellent motivational skills and have the ability to identify barriers and understand client needs.
- Your knowledge of working within a community-based service is essential and will have equipped you with the relevant communication and interpersonal skills required for the role.
- A full driving license and access to transport will be essential due to the nature of the post.
- It is essential that you hold a Health and Social Care level 2 or level 3 or equivalent and be willing to develop further as the role requires.
