We are looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Hospital Administrator to join a Mental Health Hospital in Stanmore.

This is a key support role within the service, providing additional administrative capacity to a busy team and helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the hospital.

The role will support with general administration, reception duties, finance processes, payroll queries, governance activities and assisting the Senior Management Team.

This role is ideal for someone who is approachable, reliable and enjoys working in a busy environment where no two days are the same.

Previous healthcare administration experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

The most important qualities are a positive attitude, willingness to learn, strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to supporting the service and the people we care for.

The successful candidate will be based at site and will provide an important additional resource to the existing administration team, including supporting during periods of annual leave and assisting with upcoming projects.

  • Provide general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the hospital, including reception duties and acting as the first point of contact for visitors, staff and enquiries.
  • Support with finance and payroll administration, including processing invoices, maintaining accurate records and using systems such as Excel, Xero and internal platforms.
  • Assist with governance and compliance activities, including meeting documentation, action logs, CQC preparation and maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide administrative support to the Hospital Director, Registered Manager and Senior Management Team, including meeting coordination and report preparation.
  • Maintain effective communication with staff, external stakeholders and visitors, building positive working relationships across the service.
  • Support colleagues during busy periods, staff absence and with additional project work.
  • Complete required training, maintain confidentiality and work in line with health and safety policies and organisational procedures.
  • A positive, friendly and helpful approach with a genuine desire to support others.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and organised within a busy office environment.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities at the same time.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • A willingness to learn new systems, including Xero and payroll systems.
  • Previous administration, healthcare, finance, payroll or compliance experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK without sponsorship
