About Numeric
Every business relies on accounting. Yet existing softwares in the space are from the early 2000s — clunky, slow, and haven’t kept up with advancements in AI.
At Numeric, we’re taking a first-principles re-think of how businesses manage their financial data. We’re incorporating AI, modern design practices, and database structures that are flexible, powerful, and built to integrate with the rest of company’s tech stack.
The market opportunity is massive. Our customers, including names like Paddle, Optimizely, Plaid & WealthFront, love the product. Best in class investors are excited (like Menlo Ventures & Founders Fund). And we’ve assembled a smart, creative, and ambitious team to get us to this point.
About the Role
We’re growing fast — and are looking for a creative and driven founding UK BDR to join our marketing team to accelerate our outreach efforts.
As the founding member of the UK BDR team, you’ll largely write the playbook for future generations of Numeric BDRs based in London and will flex your creative muscles to think about how to open doors for our sales team to have strong conversations with potential clients. In this role:
-
You’ll learn to quickly capture attention on the fly, both by mastering cold calling or through hyper-personalized email and LinkedIn messages.
-
You’ll manage creative campaigns for accounts that could be a good fit for Numeric — thinking about the right message to send, how to reach out, and how to experiment to get better over time.
-
You’ll field customer conversations for anyone interested in our free product and a sub-set of demos, honing your ability to communicate about our product and navigate sales conversations.
-
You’ll keep potential clients interested in Numeric when the timing isn’t yet right, nurturing and building relationships with them with invites to events and sending along updates.
-
You’ll work closely with all of the go-to-market team based in the UK, getting first-hand insight into the marketing, growth, sales, and partnerships teams.
If successful, you’ll have substantially contributed to Numeric’s growth and have laid the groundwork for others to join the BDR team.
Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to grow into a full cycle sales role, propel marketing efforts, or chart your own career path at Numeric. We’re growing fast and are excited for our BDR team to be a launching pad for careers across the company.
About You
You’re a recent grad (1-5 years of experience) interested in joining a high-growth start-up (and directly contributing to that growth!). You have a hypothesis that sales or marketing could be strong fits for your skill set & are excited to dive straight in.
-
You’re driven. You love a challenge and set ambitious goals for yourself. You have a track record of being disciplined, organized, and getting things done.
-
You’re creative. Ideas just come to you. Brainstorming is your favourite activity and you love thinking about new, compelling ways to convey a message, bring people together, or present otherwise stale information.
-
You’re personable. You’re a natural communicator. You easily connect with new people and often strike up conversations with strangers.
-
You’re a builder. You get excited about the idea of starting from the ground-up and building a strong foundation for years to come. You’re happiest charting a path & figuring things out for the first time.
How we work at Numeric
We believe that small, focused teams can have huge impacts. This means that our team is ready to tackle projects across the company when needed and we devote enough focus time to stay productive.
We are an in-person company. We believe that when things are moving quickly, working in-person is key to providing everyone with context, adapting, and, well, it’s more fun this way
We move fast and believe that often the best way to learn is by doing.
We deeply care about this company. We care about the product we’re building, our customer base, and each other.
We’re genuinely excited the world of accounting (even though most of us were brand new to it before we joined). While you may not share the same love on Day 1, we look for people excited about the prospect of re-shaping an industry and diving deep to learn about our customers.
—
And, important to note, we take business building seriously. But we aim to never take ourselves too seriously & laugh a lot.
