Practice Nurse

Salary: £36,000 - £42,900 per annum DOE FTE (£18.50-£22 per hour DOE) + NHS Pension + 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata) + Bank Holidays + 1 week study leave + Indemnity

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 2-3 days per week (up to 27 hours) - days to include a Monday or Friday (or both)

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Nurse to join a growing nursing team led by an experienced Nurse Manager.

The practice is flexible on hours and is seeking someone to work 2-3 days per week (up to 27 hours). You\'ll join a close-knit and skilled team of Nurses, HCAs, GPs, Pharmacists, and Allied Health Professionals working together to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role would suit an experienced Practice Nurse with skills in chronic disease management, treatment room work, or both. The practice is also open to applications from Registered Nurses looking to move into primary care, with full training provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of treatment room and chronic disease management services
  • Undertake wound care, doppler and leg ulcer management, and compression therapy
  • Deliver childhood immunisations, cervical cytology, and family planning services
  • Conduct health promotion and screening clinics
  • Perform phlebotomy and routine health checks
  • Contribute to Enhanced Access sessions on a rota basis (approximately every three weeks)
  • Support the ongoing improvement of patient care through teamwork and clinical excellence

About You

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with active NMC pin
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and IT skills
  • Commitment to continued professional development
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Prior primary care experience including chronic disease management, wound care, immunisations, cytology, family planning, and health promotion

Desirable:

  • SystmOne experience (training can be provided)
  • Nurse Prescriber qualification and/or chronic disease management expertise
