We have a fantastic opportunity for a Locum Paramedic Practitioner to support across 2- 4 practices within a well- established PCN in the Clacton-on-Sea area. The role is available from late September/early October and will run until March 2026, with the potential to extend.

You will have experience as a Paramedic ideally working within a Primary care setting and will be confident in working autonomously, prescribing and clinical decision making. The practices within the PCN work with both EMIS and SystemOne, so experience across both clinical systems would be beneficial, however not essential.

Salary – £35- £40 per hour

Location – Clacton-on-Sea

The surgery –

  • PCN role- supporting 2- 4 of the practices
  • Forward-thinking practices and PCN
  • Collaborative multi-disciplinary general practice team
  • Focus on Quality improvement and Holistic health at the core of their values

Your role –

  • Locum Prescribing Paramedic Practitioner
  • 4 days per week
  • Flex on start time and finish time
  • Full day required within practice opening hours (8am-6.30pm)
  • Support in areas such as minor illness, injury, minor ailments and acute on the day appointments
  • 12-14 patients per session
  • Be able to work autonomously with clinical decision-making and prescribing
  • Experience in managing long-term conditions, particularly Respiratory, would be an advantage, or an interest in Mental Health would also be beneficial (though not essential)
  • Home visits could be required
  • SystemOne or EMIS experience required
  • Independent Prescribing – Essential
  • Primary Care experience- Desirable
  • You must be qualified as a Paramedic and be registered with the HCPC
