This is a genuine leadership role: the clinical owner of medicines at a large practice, not a senior pharmacist title with extra admin attached. You will work closely with a Managing Partner who wants a clinical partner for the pharmacy team and will back your plans. Bring real vision and you will have the room to deliver it.

The practice sits in a semi-rural commuter area just south of Maidstone, Kent, with good rail links into London. It is around 10 minutes from Maidstone town centre and roughly 30 minutes from both Ashford and Tonbridge.

The Practice

  • GP training practice with a genuine passion for education
  • Large practice with a strong partnership team and a large salaried GP team
  • Medicines and prescribing decisions made in-house, with no inter-practice dynamics to navigate
  • Tech-forward and ideas-led: bring an idea and it will be considered
  • Modern, purpose-built main site with excellent staff wellbeing facilities
  • Broad MDT including ANPs, paramedics, first contact physio and social prescriber
  • Sociable culture where learning is shared and nobody works in isolation

Your Role

  • 5 hours over 4 or 5 days (compressed hours accepted), with 4 days part time also considered
  • Line management of an established team of three pharmacists: rotas, appraisals and workflow
  • Flexible split between clinics and project work, with more project time for someone with real vision
  • Own prescribing incentive scheme work and prescribing reduction projects, from plan to delivery
  • Protected clinics booked by a dedicated admin team: 30-minute SMRs and 15-minute DOAC and BP reviews, with admin time built in
  • No minor illness unless it is an interest
  • Rota'd Admin GP available 8:30am to 6:30pm daily, plus regular supervision from the GP Partners
  • Optional late clinic to 8pm, with a later start that day
  • EMIS Web
  • Suited to an Independent Prescriber with primary care leadership experience; strong community or retail pharmacy leaders also considered

Salary and Benefits

  • £33–£40 per hour (£64,350–£78,000 full-time equivalent)
  • Indemnity covered
  • NHS Pension
  • CPPE primary care pathway supported for candidates moving into general practice
