Background
Thirteen patients per four-hour session, admin time built into every session and complete freedom over your start and finish times. This very highly rated Training Practice wants an experienced (3+ years) GP who is keen to keep developing, with a sponsored route to becoming a GP Trainer and on into Partnership if desired, with no property buy-in.
Location
The practice serves former colliery communities in the east of County Durham, between Durham City and the coast. Hartlepool is around 15 minutes by car, Durham City around 25 minutes and Sunderland around 30 minutes, with the A19 close by.
The Practice
- Long-established GP Training Practice, also supporting Foundation Doctors and medical students
- Above regional and national averages in every key patient scoring criteria
- Large practice run as one team across several sites, with a central call hub handling all triage
- Large multidisciplinary team including Advanced Clinical Practitioners, a Physician Associate, practice nurses and a pharmacy team, with ACPs and PAs covering most home visits
- Strong partnership team and large salaried GP team
- Weekly clinical meetings, monthly protected learning, funded nights out and quarterly excellence awards
Your Role
- 4 to 8 sessions, including Tuesdays (the day of their full-team meeting) and either a Monday or a Friday
- 13 patients per four-hour session with admin time built in, and flexible start and finish times outside your duty day
- Duty day only once a fortnight, supported by other clinicians
- Choice of appointment length – 15-minutes for all is fine, or a mixture
- Pooled list, with work shared fairly by sessions worked
- Interests in minor surgery, joint injections or women’s health welcome but not essential
- Minimum 3 years’ post-CCT
- You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK performers list.
