Location: South East OR North East

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (DOE)

Hours: Full time Monday to Friday 9:00-17:00 (midweek and weekend overtime available)

About the role: As a Monitoring Engineer / Surveyor, you will carry out a range of monitoring tasks using advanced equipment and technologies to support rail, highways, and drainage works. You will collect and analyse data, contribute to geotechnical monitoring, and play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and safety of infrastructure. This is a dynamic role with excellent opportunities for development and involvement in a wide variety of challenging, high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a variety of structural and environmental monitoring tasks using specialist equipment and software.
  • Analyse and process monitoring data using industry-standard tools.
  • Support geotechnical monitoring activities (desirable).
  • Assist in mentoring and supporting junior team members.
  • Maintain high safety standards and comply with site regulations.
  • Carry out any other duties as required by the business.

Requirements:

  • 12 years' experience in surveying, engineering, or monitoring.
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in the field.
  • Familiarity with UK construction and rail industry practices.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • High regard for safety and quality standards.
  • Ambition to learn, develop, and grow within the role.
  • Flexibility to travel nationwide and stay away as needed.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
