Background
This is a rare opportunity to focus purely on clinical care: face to face appointments only, with no home visits, no supervisory duties and no administrative workload. Based in a modern, purpose-built health and wellbeing hub run by a well-established Primary Care Network, the role suits newly qualified and experienced GPs alike who want a well-supported clinical session with manageable and clearly defined expectations.
Location
The role is based in Devizes, a pleasant Wiltshire market town with a mix of residential streets, green spaces and pockets of deprivation alongside more affluent areas. Devizes sits within easy reach of Chippenham (around 25 minutes by car), Trowbridge (around 20 minutes) and Swindon (around 35 minutes), making it a realistic commute for GPs based across North and West Wiltshire.
The Practice
- Modern, purpose-built healthcare facility hosting a well-established Primary Care Network covering four GP practices
- Dedicated same-day face to face appointment service, working alongside Registrars, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, First Contact Physiotherapists and Physician Associates
- On-site Clinical Lead and Clinical Supervisor providing oversight and support to the wider clinical team
- SystmOne clinical system
- Twice-daily coffee breaks built into the working day and a genuinely supportive team culture
Your Role
- Solely face-to-face, same-day GP appointments: 14 x 15-minute appointments per session
- No home visits, no extended hours and no administrative responsibility
- Fixed working pattern of Fridays only: 9.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 6.00pm, with a 30-minute coffee break in each session
- Fixed-term contract from October 2026 to March 2027, with the possibility of extension
- Ideal for newly qualified GPs or established GPs looking to add to their portfolio; no specific clinical interest required

- You must be qualified as a General Practitioner and registered with the GMC and UK Performers List
