Overview

Background: The practice offers a low administrative load with no routine prescription signing, no lab results unless abnormal, and no Docman filing. GPs handle their own self‑referral admin and manage roughly 10 letters per day.

This is a GP Training Practice with three on‑site trainers, research activity, and integration with the Neighbourhood Team for complex case management.

Location

Sheldon, east of Birmingham, near Birmingham Airport and the A45. The city centre is about 20 minutes away, Solihull 10 minutes, and Coventry 25 minutes. The role is based at a single site.

Role Details

4 to 6 patient sessions per week, prioritising Thursday and Friday, with flexibility for the remaining days. Sessions consist of 10‑minute appointments, 15 patients per session, and three built‑in admin slots. A maximum of one home visit per day is allowed.

The duty doctor model features morning coordination and decision‑making, with up to 10 urgent patients in the afternoon. Extended access sessions run from 18:30 to 20:00 on weekdays and Saturday mornings at a PCN hub site.

Newly qualified GPs are welcomed; the practice supports early‑career doctors and may adjust consultation slot lengths as needed.
