This role is available for the right reason. The foundations here are strong, the team is settled, and the culture is healthy. What this practice needs now is experienced leadership — someone with the confidence, clarity, and vision to take a good practice and make it exceptional.
Why This Practice Is Different
This is not "just another practice down the road" — and they are unapologetically clear about that. The owners are deeply committed to:
- Calm, low-stress visits for patients
- Genuine empathy for clients
- High clinical standards — without ego or burnout
You’ll be joining a team who are kind to their patients, kind to each other, and who genuinely enjoy coming to work. There’s laughter here. There’s trust. And there’s ambition — just waiting for the right leader to activate it.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on Clinical Director role with real autonomy. You won’t be micromanaged or boxed in. Instead, you’ll be trusted to shape and grow:
- Clinical standards and protocols
- Team development, mentoring, and confidence
- Surgical caseload growth (the demand and theatre capacity already exist)
- Client experience and practice culture
Current team: 4 Vets | 5 Nurses | 1 VCA | ~4,000 active clients. This is a practice with momentum — it simply needs leadership to unlock its full potential.
The Role
- 4-day week (30–40 hours, genuinely flexible)
- 1 in 4 weekends (Saturday mornings only)
- No OOH (covered externally)
- 15-minute consults
- ~20 consults per vet per day
- ~5 surgeries per day currently — with clear room to grow
This is a role for someone who wants to make things happen, not just hold the rota together.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be a seasoned clinician who clearly knows what they’re doing — and who others naturally respect. You’ll bring:
- Proven leadership capability
- Strong, consistent clinical standards
- The ability to mentor, guide, and unite a team
- Confidence — balanced with warmth, humanity, and approachability
A surgical bias (beyond routine neuters) would be ideal, but this is not a surgeon-only mindset. Medicine matters here. Balance matters.
Salary, Bonus & Benefits
£75,000–£80,000 DOE (ceiling £80k). Bonus up to 20% of salary. Visa sponsorship available. Benefits include:
- 5 weeks holiday (based on a 4-day week)
- Additional 3 charity days
- Private health insurance
- £30/month gym contribution
- 2 free Total Wellness Plans for your own pets
- CPD trips abroad
- Quarterly social fund (£25 per head)
- Employer pension
Development:
CPD fully supported. Certificate support actively encouraged. Leadership & Management Level 3 programme available.
