We’re working with a well-established independent practice in Guildford that has grown quickly and is now looking to add another Veterinary Surgeon to its experienced and supportive team. This is a genuinely varied GP role offering a good balance of consulting and surgery, strong team support, and the opportunity to develop your clinical interests in a practice that actively encourages new ideas and investment in equipment.
The practice has built a loyal client base and a collaborative team culture, with experienced vets on hand and a leadership team that remains clinically involved and approachable.
The Role
- Full-time or part-time considered
- Flexible working with set days and hours where possible
- Mix of consulting and surgery
- 15-minute consultations (flexible depending on case)
- Dedicated admin time built into the day
- 1-hour lunch break
- Surgical exposure is varied and consistent, including routine procedures as well as more involved cases such as:
- Neutering and routine soft tissue surgery
- Lump removals
- Splenectomies
- Emergency procedures
- OOH Involvement
- 1 night per week on-call
- 1 in 4 weekends (daytime)
- Time off in lieu provided
- Additional earnings from OOH cases (10–20% of work carried out)
- Weekend work is sole charge, but weekdays are well supported with no sole charge expected.

- In-house IDEXX laboratory
- Access to CT via referral
- Ongoing investment in new equipment
- The practice is proactive with technology and open to purchasing new equipment based on clinical need.
Team Structure
- 4 vets with a mix of experience levels
- Strong nursing team including experienced RVNs and support staff
- Consistent daily support with multiple vets on site
- Leadership team (owners) remain involved and accessible
