Role Description
We are seeking an Intermediate Building Services Engineer for an on‑site, full‑time role at our London office. As an Intermediate Building Services Engineer you will be technically capable of working across a variety of projects, including works at both planning and detailed design stages. You should be able to communicate clearly and effectively with internal management from Graduate to Director level, and liaise externally with Clients, Architects and Contractors to maintain good business relationships and promote the company’s services.
- Building services design from conceptualisation through to practical completion
- Working within a team of engineers to ensure effective delivery of projects and tasks to meet the deadlines set by your line manager
- Completion of various calculations for system sizing and selection manually, and with the use of software packages
- Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations
- Liaising directly with Clients, Architects and Contractors on projects to meet client needs and deliver on programme
- Attending Design Team Meetings and Workshops
- Liaising with senior members of staff to ensure targets are met and any issues arising on projects are dealt with quickly and properly
- Preparing and reviewing drawings completed by the internal CAD team

- Ability to work successfully within a team and ensure effective delivery of projects and tasks to meet project deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage varying deadlines and project workload
- Ability to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines
Required Qualifications / Experience
- BEng / HND in a relevant discipline
- Understanding of the design and construction process
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM and associated software
- Experience designing electrical building services: lighting, power, fire alarm, IT and communications infrastructure, lightning protection, access control and security systems for buildings
- Knowledge of British building standards, regulations and Health and Safety standards
