We are looking for a Support Worker to join our service based in Easingwold on a permanent, part-time basis (30 hours a week). Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
We aim to grow our team of dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic support workers to enable the individuals we support to live the lives they choose.
If you enjoy supporting individuals with activities, you might be suited for our 1:1 support service, where you\’ll support a young man with a different activity each week, such as football, swimming, or enjoying his National Trust tickets. The ideal support worker will need to match his passion for fun and activity.
We also offer opportunities to support individuals with life skills to live independently. You might support our residents in their daily routines, including helping in the kitchen, going out for coffee, and assisting with small acts that make a big difference.
Support needs vary; some individuals require only verbal prompts for personal care, while others may need more hands-on support. Full training and shadowing will be provided.
We understand the importance of flexibility. While shift patterns vary, some day shifts start from 7:00 am or 9:00 am and finish between 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm, often split into two shifts. Sleep-in and waking night shifts are also available, with an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70 for sleep-in shifts. Payments for sleep-ins are non-contractual.
Role responsibilities include:
- Supporting people to live independently, including managing budgets, paying bills, housework, organizing appointments, and cooking healthy meals.
- Building relationships and supporting understanding of the world around them, promoting positive interactions.
- Supporting community and social inclusion by enabling participation in local activities and events.
- Providing personal care, including prompting medication, assisting with bathing, showering, and bathroom needs. Not all roles involve high levels of personal care.
*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
