We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Service based in Easingwold on a Full Time permanent basis (37.5 hours a week). Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

We are looking to grow our team of dedicated, caring and enthusiastic support workers to enable the individuals we support to live the lives they choose.

If you’re looking to support someone who enjoys activities, then maybe you’re best suited to our 1:1 support service where you’ll be supporting a young man with a different activity every week! Whether it’s football, swimming or even making the most of his National Trust tickets, this gentleman has endless energy and a real passion for fun – the Support Worker we’re looking for will need to match his passion, or better yet, top it!

If you’re looking for the chance to support individuals with the life skills they need to live independently, then we have a service for you too. Supporting our lovely ladies in their home, you will be with them all the way while they go about their day; you’ll be their helping hand in the kitchen. You may be supporting one of the ladies out for a coffee – and most importantly, making sure milk is bought on the way home! This service is perfect for someone who wants to see how small acts can mean so much to someone wanting to live as independently as possible.

Some of the people we support only require verbal prompts for Personal Care while some may need more hands on support – full training and shadowing will be provided for each service.

As a Support Worker with Mencap, we understand that flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service. While we do require flexibility with shifts throughout the day depending on the service you match with, we understand you have a life outside of work too. Things come up that you need to work around, and we will do our very best to ensure our rotas are done to allow for that trip to the dentist.

As each service is different, so too are the requirements and shift patterns. As a general guide; some day shifts can start from 7.00 am or 9.00 am and can finish between 9.00 pm or 10.00 pm, these are usually split into 2 shifts. Certain services will also have sleep in shifts or Waking Night shifts as well. You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual.
