Mencap is seeking passionate and compassionate Support Workers to join our team in Launceston. As a Support Worker you will support individuals with learning disabilities, helping them with daily activities, personal care, medication, finance, food and hygiene, and organising day trips and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily activities and personal care.
- Support medication management.
- Help with finance and budgeting tasks.
- Prepare and assist with meals and hygiene.
- Organise and accompany day trips and holidays.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- Driver’s licence (required for the role).
- All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
Contract and Working Hours
- Contract: part‑time (30 hours).
- All services are 24‑hour care; shift rotas are prepared at least four weeks in advance.
- Sleep‑in shift available (not guaranteed) with an enhanced flat‑rate payment of £63.70.
