We are looking for a Shop Assistant for our Wisbech store on a 15-hour contract. We seek a passionate and motivated individual to help our store reach its full potential. The ideal candidate will be proactive and enthusiastic about charity retail and fashion.
As a Shop Assistant, you will:
- Help promote donations and sales to maximize profits
- Represent Mencap as an efficient and charitable organization by reinforcing our aims and values
- Encourage stock generation from the local area and donors
- Sign up donors to the Gift Aid scheme to maximize income
- Assist in achieving profit targets by maximizing sales and managing costs effectively
- Maintain the store\’s presentation to a high standard
- Build and lead an effective volunteer team, providing training, development, and appraisals to staff and volunteers
- Handle all financial transactions, cash handling, and ensure health and safety standards
To be successful, you should:
- Be flexible with working hours, including weekends and bank holidays
- Be willing to travel for team meetings, training, and store setup activities
- Be passionate about Mencap\’s values and committed to the success of our retail brand
