Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Relief Support Workers to join our incredible team in Rochdale – OL12. As a Relief Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you'll play a vital role in their life. This Service is for 2 gentlemen that live together. They are both full of life and love a busy setting, being around people. One gentleman requires a wheelchair 24/7. One gentleman can get himself about his home but requires a wheelchair at meal times and when leaving the house. Full support is needed for both. They both love interaction in various different ways, such as music, toys, and balls. A drive out in their van is a favourite for both.

What we’re looking for:

  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

Due to the location of the Service and the need to drive PWS vehicles, this role requires you to be a driver (with a FULL UK Driving Licence and able to drive manual vehicles).

Contract options:

  • Relief Support Worker: flexible hours based on availability.

Shift times:

  • All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
  • Days: Between 10:00 to 18:00
  • Sleep: 8:00 to 23:00 (sleep-in) 7:00 to 9:00
